Spring Break 2010

We had a really fun Spring Break! The kids had no Mother's Day Out, Dance, or T-ball, so we had the entire week to do whatever we wanted! The weather didn't cooperate at the beginning of the week, but by Wednesday it was beautiful and perfect for a day at the Beach! So we went and picked up Mimi and met Leigh, Gigi, Landon, and Madeline in Galveston. We packed a lunch and Gigi bought everyone a bucket and shovel. It was so nice to enjoy some Vitamin D. I feel like we have been cooped up all winter!

After the beach, Mimi, Harleigh, Trey and I headed to Kemah! We ate some Joe's crabshack and spent the night at The Boardwalk Inn. On Thursday the kids rode a million rides and played in the water fountain. It was so much fun being near the water for two days!

"Daddy's at work?"

Josh has been working out of town for months! He leaves Monday morning and comes home Saturday night. This has been really difficult on me and the kids. Being pregnant and dealing with mornining sickness and being so tired all of the time has been really hard. But Josh has to go where the work is, and lately it has been 2-4 hours from home. Every morning Trey wakes up and says, "Daddy's at work?" It's so sad, they miss him a lot. So we have been making weekly trips to go see Daddy wherever he is. We usually go Tuesdays when they get out of Mother's Day Out and spend the night. This is a picture of our Sleeping Beauties at the hotel Josh was staying in while he was in Buffalo. So sweet! He should be coming home within the next few weeks and working some jobs closer to home this summer, we are so happy!

15 Weeks

Today marks week 15 in my pregnancy. I am very excited and anxious! I am also fighting off worrisome thoughts and emotions. Everyday, I battle the "This time last year" thoughts. This time last year I was 13 weeks pregnant with Maeson, just begininning to outgrow my clothes and getting very excited about meeting our baby. I never dreamed that bittersweet reunion would be just 3 weeks later. But, like it or not, life goes on. This is a new year, and a new baby. I am 15 weeks, and my baby is the size of a naval orange! He/she is measuring 4 inches long and weighing about 2.5 ounces. My 4 month appointment is on April 1st, I am wondering if I will breathe a sigh of relief when I get past week 16. I sure HOPE so!

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 15 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: -2 pounds
Maternity Clothes: I actually wore a pair of maternity jeans to the office Friday since I was sitting all day. So comfy!
Gender: We don't know!
Name: We have 3 girl names and 3 boys names and we can't decide!
Movement: Not yet!
Food Craving: Ugh! I crave junk food! I never want to eat anything healthy, but I'm working on it. (Kind of! :)
What I miss: Pueblo Margaritas (yep, I said it!)
Sleep: I don't sleep well at all! I have to pee every night and have a hard time going back to sleep after that. And I'm wide awake at 6am, even when I really want to sleep in!
What I am looking forward to: Hearing the baby's heartbeat on April 1st
Symptoms: My belly is starting to "pooch!", I'm less tired and I can tell my appetite is coming back, uh-oh!
Big Sister & Big Brother: Harleigh tells everyone that I have "a baby in my belly" and that it's a girl! If you ask Trey where Momma's baby is, he points to himself!

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12

1st Haircut

Harleigh got her first haircut! I have to admit, I never dreamed she would be 4 1/2 before she even got a trim! But this is just how long it has taken her to grow some hair, she was so bald, bless her heart! When I was pregnant I had this vision of my little girl having straight, beautiful brown hair halfway down her back by the time she started school. But she doesn't! She has curly, beautiful brown hair that barely touches her shoulders when dry. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Here she is in "the chair". I thought it would be a lot of fun for her to get her hair washed and cut, but I was oh so wrong! She hated getting it washed, she cried the whole time. She did better after that was over but the real fun came when Barbara offered to make her hair straight. Harleigh was so excited to see herself without curly hair. I couldn't believe she agreed to let Barbara blow it out, but what do I know!?!

Here is My Big Girl when it was all said and done. They barely cut half an inch but it made a big difference. It looks so much healthier and less frizzy and her curls are bouncing more than ever. I wasn't a big fan of the straight hair, it just doesn't look like my baby! I see a lot more beauty shop fun in our future!
