Lakyn DeAnn 6 Months

On March 8th our precious Lakyn turned 6 months old. And she is a BIG girl! We are so in love with this sweet baby!

Lakyn, you are SIX months old! It's so hard to believe that you are halfway to your 1st Birthday!

You are such a happy and pleasant baby! You are very content and rarely ever fuss or cry.

Here is what you are up to at 6 months:

*You are still taking your formula (Similac Sensitive) You drink 8 ounces about every 4 hours.

*You are also eating stage one vegetables. You HATE fruit! Very unusual, but I have tried every fruit and you gag and cause a big scene, so we are just sticking to veggies. I even mix carrots in your cereal for breakfast!

*You sleep through the night (from about 8pm-7am) You also take a two 2hour naps every day and you "cat nap" in between.

*You weigh a whopping 19.5 lbs. and you are off the charts for your height. At your last appointment the doctor said you were the height and weight of an average 11 month old! Looks like you will be tall like Mommy :)

*You are wearing 9-12 month clothes and 12-18 month sleepers. You wear a size 3 shoe and you are outgrowing them quickly!

*You have no teeth. Harleigh and Trey were late teethers (9 months or so) So I'm assuming you will teeth late as well.

*You're rolling everywhere but you aren't event trying to crawl. And I'm TOTALLY okay with that! ;)

*You are sitting on your own for a few seconds at a time.

*You love to play and laugh with your Big Brother and Sister and you are such a joy to have in our home! We love you so much Lakyn Bacon!

Cattle Women's Luncheon

Every year My Aunt Bridget is in charge of the Fashion Show at The Cattlewomen's Luncheon in Houston. My cousin, Ashley models for her every year and she always tries to get my Mom and I to model. This year we finally gave in and it was so fun!

My Aunt does such an awesome job putting all of the outfits together and speaking at the event. She is such a natural! I love seeing her do what she loves! Being a Cowgirl Fashionista!

My Mom and her two sisters, Bridget and Cheryl. They are so beautiful! I am blessed to be surrounded by strong beautiful women!

Mimi rocked the stage in this beautiful jacket!

This is the dress my Aunt picked for me to wear and I fell in love with it! She went to the boutique that next week and picked it up for me. Modeling was a lot of fun, and I will definitely do it again. So glad us ladies get together to do fun stuff like this!

Remember Florida...

Okay... we are in late January! A couple more months and I'll be caught up on blogging! yay!

When Josh and I first got together we went to Florida for my cousin's wedding. We fell in LOVE! With Florida and each other ;) We always talk about that trip and say, "Remember Florida?" Well... 7 years later and we finally got to go back! My little brother is going to college there and living with his Dad, so we decided it was time for a visit. And the timing couldn't have been better. We needed a vacation, BAD!

We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and rented a car and drove to Islamorada to meet my little brother, J.D. His Dad let us take his boat out the next day. Here is Josh fueling it up, it's so nice!

We spent the entire day fishing. I caught my very first fish, a parrot fish. It was so pretty and unique. Josh and JD caught a lot of tuna and we even ate some right there on the boat! Talk about fresh sushi! It was so good! I was amazed at how much JD knows about fishing those waters. He knows the Florida Keys like the back of his hand. It's very impressive and so cool to see him in his element.

We stayed at Holiday Isle for two nights, we also stayed there the first time we went to Florida so it was neat to go back there again. We had a blast hanging out with JD, fishing and catching up. I miss him so much already and can't wait for him to come to Texas for Mother's Day.

When we left there we kept driving South and went all the way to Key West. We spent 4 days there the last time we were in Florida and we couldn't wait to get back there. We stayed in a really neat, relaxing hotel that was within walking distance of everything. We walked down to The Sunset at Mallory Square one night and of course, Josh got talked into helping one of the street performers. There are about 10 people who come out every night at sunset and do all kinds of crazy stunts. They are really talented and fun to watch.

Our favorite place to hang out on Duvall Street is Willie T's. They have a great live band every night and just really fun down to earth people. It's an outdoor bar with a huge tree growing right through the middle of it. The entire place is decorated with dollar bills. They will give you a magic marker and a staple gun and you write something on a dollar bill and staple it anywhere in the bar. It's pretty cool! But it would be way cooler if they gave you the marker, stapler, AND the dollar bill, ha!

When we go on vacations we like to do at least one crazy thing. So we decided to go on a bi plane ride. This is the only picture I got because the battery went dead on my camera. (Camera issues... story of my life!) I was a nervous wreck, but I was very pleasantly surprised in the end. Our pilot was awesome, not only was he a very experienced pilot, but he was born and raised in Key West! He knew so much history, and Josh and I are total dorks when it comes to that. We love to go on tours and hear all about the history of wherever we are. We even went on the trolly tour with all of the seniors! LOL! Anyways... I would totally recommend this bi plane ride, we went over all of Key West and the Shipwreck Reefs, it was too cool!

Later that day we went to The Aquarium and The Shipwreck Museum. Josh fed this bird out of his hand and we saw so many cool animals and learned a lot about the history of Key West. BUT... our hearts were totally not in it. There were kids everywhere and as much as we wanted to enjoy our last day, we missed our kids so much! It was neat seeing all these cool things, but we were so ready to get home to our babies.

The last thing we did was go on a Sunset Dinner Cruise. This was also something we did on our first trip to The Keys and we had to do it again. A small taxi boat picked us up from the hotel and took us over to a private island where there is a restraunt out on the beach. The food and the service are wonderful and the view is amazing! It was an awesome way to spend our last night in Key West.

As we walked from the dock to our hotel, we saw a Disney Cruise Ship! We were so excited to get home and tell the kids THAT will be our next vacation!

Trey's Bulldozer 3rd Birthday Party

Trey turned 3 on December 28th but we waited a week for the holidays to die down to have his party. Poor kid was born smack dab in the middle of Christmas and New Year's. This year he wanted a Bulldozer Party. I didn't think I could pull this one off but I was amazed at how much bulldozer stuff is out there.

I made a "Worm Dirt Pit" and it was so yummy! Crushed oreos, cream cheese, chocolate pudding, and gummi worms... How can you go wrong with that combo? I had hard hats for all of the kids to wear and I even found a Bulldozer Pinata!

The sugar cookies were so good! They were in the shapes of Bulldozers, concrete trucks, firetrucks, and dump trucks. They were a big hit and made the perfect party favor. I have started ordering them for every occasion!

I made little signs to go in all the food. This one was my favorite, "Dig In!" I always use Tastefully Simple products at our parties. They have the best appetizers and they are super easy to make. This is Bacon Bacon dip and Beer Bread. YUM!

The cake was exactly what I wanted... as usual! It matched the party perfectly and Trey LOVED the red Bulldozer. I am always so impressed at Baking Buddies cakes. Those girls can do anything!

Josh always gets on to me for going all out on the Birthday Parties but he is so guilty! He always cooks so much delicious food! Here is Josh and some friends of ours hanging out by the bbq pit. He cooked Brisket, prime rib, and shrimp diablo. Seriously... who cooks all of that for a 3 year olds party!?! And he thinks I go overboard? LOL!

I had a note on the invitation that said "Bring your battery operated ATVs". I stole this idea from a friend and it was so perfect! Here is Shane riding on Trey's tractor.

And his Big Sister, Miss Rylei Paige. I swear, our friends have the most adorable kids!

Harleigh & Cali had a blast on Justice & Bailey's Avalanche. Cali's little sister Kenli is chasing them. I joked with their Mommy and said that's probably how these 3 will always be! ha!

Trey had so much fun at his party and so many of our family and friends came over to celebrate. The weather was perfect! I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the best part... Daddy parked his REAL LIVE bulldozer in the front yard for everyone to see. Trey was in Heaven :)

Proud Momma

Have I mentioned how much I love my babies!?! Oh, and my photographer, lol! Seriously, ya'll... she's the best.

Holidays 2010

I'm baaaaack! ha! I have been trying to decide if I should update starting now, or back track and pick up where I left off in DECEMBER, ugh! Well, I decided to pick up where I left off, you know, for memories sake ;)

We had a really great Christmas this year. Oue kids are so blessed, they get to celebrate with my Mom's extended family, my immediate family on my Mom's side, my Dad's side, and with Josh's family. They think every day in December is Christmas, ha! This is a picture of them and their cousins on Josh's side. I lost my camera so Josh got me a new one for Christmas. Needless to say, my picture collection from our Holiday festivities is pretty poor.

This year, we celebrated New Year's at our home with some close friends and their kids. My how things change after children ;) We had some brand new puppies and the kids had so much fun playing with them. I think we have had 2 litters since then. Lord, help me!

Lakyn was a perfect angel, of course, and slept in her swing the entire evening.

The kiddos danced the night away as Mr. Donnie sang and played for them. Harleigh thinks he sounds just like The Zach Brown Band ;)
