First Grader!

The summer flew by as usual and it was time for Harleigh to start school again. I was readyto get back to the routine, but I sure do miss her being home with me. She and I went to Meet The Teacher night, which was pretty uneventful. BUT... don't even get me started on how stinking adorable it is that her and Trace are in the same class AGAIN! These two have been together since Parent's Day Out at the Church in town. They started out in the 3's class together, then moved to 4's, had the same Kinder teacher, and now 1st grade too! Harleigh Shirley... has a good ring to it ;) kidding! kidding!

We both loved her teacher and everyone I talked to told me how great she was, so that was a relief. She was her usual Sassy self on the first day and posed for the camera in her new outfit! I'm excited to see what this year has in store for her!

Pinkalicious

Another year has gone by and our first baby girl is SIX YEARS OLD! I'm not even going to get started on all of the emotions I feel when I think about the last six years. My whole world changed when I found out we were having a baby and I couldn't imagine how my life would turn out. Now I look back and think, "What did I do before my baby?" Well, she is not a baby anymore. Harleigh True is a big, smart, beautiful, and talented 6 year old. I'm so proud of her!

This year Harleigh wanted a Tea Party with a few of her closest girlfriends and some family. She loves any and everything PINK so what better kind of tea party to have than a Pinkalicious Tea Party?

I had a fruit tray and some pink cookies, chicken salad sandwhiches and all the fixin's, ham n cheese and pb & j sandwhiches, and chips n dip. It was very simple but really good. My Mother-In-Law makes the best chicken salad and I just cut up onions and avacado to put on them, yummy!

The table was set up for all of the girls and they even had a real glass tea cup and saucer! They ate their lunch and they each made an edible tea cup to take home. They loved making the tea cups. I wished that I had planned another activity for them to do. Little girls just love crafts!

Little Sister was all decked out in her pink romper and birthday hat. Too stinking cute!

My Mom picked up the balloons and came early to help me get all the food ready. I had set everything up the night before so I wouldn't be stressed but throwing a party is just stressful no matter what. I'm so thankful that she puts up with me on party days, I'm one big ball of nerves! lol!

After the girls ate their lunch, sipped their tea (pink lemonade) and made their craft, they all sat down to hear the story of Pinkalicious. They did not move. It was so adorable!

Happy Birthday Harleigh girl! We love you way too much!

It's The Harleigh Show!

May was a busy month for our little Kindergartener! It started with Water Day at her school! Trey went to work with Daddy while Lakyn and I went to watch Harleigh in her Water Day activities.

The Coach's lined the kids up in the gym and gave them the 411! Harleigh was so excited!!!

They seperated the boys and girls, fabulous idea! The girls got to do the slip n slide first. I'm so glad they do Water Day now instead of Field Day. It's just way too hot!

All of the little girls in Harleigh's class were so sweet! I can't wait for her Birthday party so we can have them over to play!

Next, was her dance recital! It was adorable, as usual! This was Harleigh's 3rd year of tap and ballet. All of our family came out to watch her dance and she did so good.

Every year Josh gets her flowers after her recital. I think it's just the sweetest thing! He is doing an awesome job of setting her standards very high! :)

Her recital didn't start until 7:30pm. I had planned on having everyone over for dinner afterwards, but the time was so awkward. We weren't going to be at our house until about 9pm, so I figured everyone would have eaten before the recital. So I decided to serve dessert instead of dinner. I had cupcakes, brownies, and a sundae bar. I though this was the best idea ever! But I was so WRONG! lol! No one except for us ate before they came and everyone was hungry and I had NO FOOD! So, next year I will be cooking or we will be going out to eat. We had a good time, but it was embarrassing that everyone was hungry for dinner and all I had was dessert!

The following week was the last week of school for Harleigh. They had an end of the year luncheon in her classroom. I volunteered to bring the paper goods. I found graduation stuff that matched her school colors, and we stuffed the cups with all kinds of goodies the night before.

They had pizza, punch and cupcakes. Josh, Trey, Lakyn and I went and Harleigh was so happy that we were all there. Trey sat by her and ate and we watched her class slideshow. It was adorable. I am going to miss her being in Kindergarten :(

The next Day was her Graduation, the theme was "Coloring Our Future". Each class wore their class shirts, it was so neat! Of course I bought a tutu and a huge bow for Harleigh to wear, lol! She got an end of the year award from her teacher for Best Dressed! I'm so proud! ha!

They sang six of the most adorable songs ever and then they put their cap and gowns on and received their diplomas. These are the same colors they will wear when they graduate from High School. How cute :)

Our parents and my Aunt all came to watch our Little Kindergatener graduate. She was so excited that they all came to see her sing her songs. Which, by the way, she has been singing every day since!

Mrs. C. was an awesome teacher to Harleigh. I can't say enough good things about her. Harleigh misses her so much, we will definitely be visiting her next year!

Stick Horse Rodeo

Every year Harleigh's school has a Stick Horse Rodeo. This is seriously the cutest thing ever! The kids bring a stick horse and they do all kinds of outdoor activites. Here are The Kindergarteners riding in the Grand Entry. Adorable.

They had barrel races, trick riding, roping, and all kinds of adorable activites. The High School Rodeo and FFA kids came over and set it all up and helped the little ones with each station. Harleigh had a blast and it was so fun getting to watch her.

I thought her outfit was adorable so I took her out in the yard for a last minute photo session. Turned out pretty cute :)

Fancy Nancy

A couple of weeks ago I went to Harleigh's school for Fancy Nancy & Dapper Dan Day. Fancy Nancy is a character in children's books who loves to dress fancy and use big fancy words. It's a neat way for the kids to have fun and learn that there are other ways to say things. I picked out Harleigh's clothes at the last minute right before I woke her up for school. If we are at home, you will never find her without a dress, tutu or some kind of funky outfit on, so you can imagine how excited she was about Fancy Nancy Day at school. When I got her dressed she said, "Mommy, how did you know the perfect thing for me to wear? Just how did you know?" Well, sweet girl... I'm the Mommy! I know everything!

This is "Fancy Harleigh" with her teacher, Mrs. Cameron. She loves Kindergarten. She is always really sweet in the mornings and is very excited when I pick her up. She loves to tell me all about her day and to do her homework. Yes, my kid loves to do homework. I was not expecting that, but I'm glad that she has such a hunger for knowledge! :)

Me and three other Mom's brought the fixings for Ice Cream Parfaits, just like in the book. The kids got to put their own toppings on and we read a Fancy Nancy book. They also sang us a song. Here is Our Little Kindergartener in action. Enjoy! :)

Little Miss Kindergarten

Today is the day. The day we have all been talking about for so long! Our 1st baby started Kindergarten. It is a very surreal feeling that will probably take all week to sink in. But I'm excited for her!

She started off the morning with a phone call from her cousin, Kenzi. Today was her first day of 1st grade, so she knows all about the big K! She was telling Harleigh what to expect and Harleigh didn't know what to think, ha!

Here she is posing in her 1st day outfit. I tried to keep it pretty simple, and sweet. I told myself and everyone else I was going to put the big bows away when she went to school, but I just can't help it. And she doesn't care so she will wear them until she does! ha! I wanted her to carry her matching lunch box, but of course she wanted the Minnie Mouse one. Pick your battles, right?

Trey wanted to take some pictures with us too! He was very sad today. He misses Harleigh and keeps saying, "Mommy, Harleigh is at school. But what's her doing? I miss her!" This is going to be a long week, but hopefully he will adjust!

Mimi came to see Harleigh off to her 1st day and it really helped me out having her here. She was able to help me with Trey so I could concentrate on Harleigh.

Her teacher gave each child's parent a heart sticker to give to their son/daughter. She said she had a book to go along with it that explains that when Mommy & Daddy aren't with you, they are always thinking about you and missing you. She said it really helps them with the seperation and adjustment of going to school. I thought this was soooo adorable! I gave Harleigh her heart this morning while I fixed her hair and told her all about how it was our special heart. Then she said, "Mommy, when you get sad today, and you miss me, you can look at some pictures of me, okay?" Sweet girl, melts my heart! :)

She was very brave this morning until it was time for me to leave and then she lost it. I calmed her down pretty quickly and she asked if I would get her special heart out of her back pack because she already missed me. sigh! This was harder than I thought, I can't wait to pick up my baby from her 1st day of school!

Country Girl

I always say that Harleigh is the perfect little girl. She loves everything girly! She plays dress up and barbies, loves to get her toes painted and wear pretty dresses and bows, and we have really been enjoying some "girls days" here lately. It's so cute when she wakes up and says, "Mommy, can Bubba go to work with Daddy so we can have a very special girl's day?" awww... melts my heart!
However... there is another side to our Little Diva that I happen to think is perfect as well. Imagine that! ha! She loves to play outside, jump on the trampoline, ride around on the Ranger, go hunting with her Daddy, and most of all, she loves to play with the dogs. But... keep in mind, she can rarely be found doing any of these things without a tutu on! LOL!

Proof in the puddin'! LOL! I went out back to check on her yesterday and this is what I found! My Princess all dressed up and in the dog house! Oh my!

Harleigh is Five!

This past Saturday our First Born daughter turned 5 years old! We had an over the top party at our house just like every other year. Each summer as her birthday approaches, I say that we are going to tone it down. Yeah, right! I think it's safe to say that the parties are bigger and more hectic as the years go on! But we love it! We have a waterslide, cake, lots of food, and tons of family and friends to share it all with! I thought it would be fun to post pictures of Harleigh on birthdays #1-5. Wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun!

Her first Birthday was insane! It was bug themed! We had 80 people at our house, we rented a waterslide, and ran out of food! ha! Priceless!

For her second Birthday we had a Luau. She was scaired of the waterslide, but loved singing the Happy Birthday song to herself! :)

Our little Cupcake's third Birthday was so much fun. It was neat seeing her "socialize" with her friends. She was such a little chatter box and still is!

Harleigh's favorite food is strawberries, so for her fourth Birthday, I went all out and got everything on earth that was made with strawberries!

And then there was FIVE! She loved her Ariel themed party!

Happy Birthday, Harleigh True! I have had so much fun raising you these past five years! You continue to amaze me with how intelligent and beautiful you are. I am proud to call you my daughter!
