We are SO thankful

I can not believe Thanksgiving is only 2 days away! I have all of my shopping done and I'm ready to enjoy a few days relaxing with the family. We have gone to Josh's Grannie's house ever since our very first Thanksgiving together. But this year she is very sick and in the hospital, so we aren't sure of our plans. It's so sad that she is sick and especially right before Thanksgiving, I'm hoping we will just delay our feast until the weekend when she is feeling better.
I decided to have fall pictures of the kids done this year and send out fall cards, rather than Christmas cards. This was in an effort to minimize my stress during the holidays and planning of Trey's party. (early January) And it totally worked! I'm so glad to have pictures and cards marked off my list of things to do for the holidays. So... without further ado ;)

Mother's Day Weekend

I started out Mother's Day weekend ny hosting a shower for my very good friend, Erin, on Saturday. She is getting married in mid June so lots of friends and family pitched in and we threw her the most beautiful shower!

We were able to use the clubhouse at her Grandfather's condominiums downtown. The room was floor to ceiling glass and it overlooked the Houston skyline, it couldn't have been any more perfect. Erin's Mom made the cake and cake balls. They were so pretty and yummy! Can you believe this is her very first cake!?! She is such a talented woman!

On Sunday we had a crawfish boil at our house. I was so excited to have everyone over to eat, drink and celebrate Mother's Day. This precious girl was pretty excited too! ;) We had her highchair out under the carport all day. She loves to be outside and see what's going on. Nosey Rosey!

My handsome husband spoils me so badly! ha! He was up bright and early picking up crawfish across town and spent the entire day cooking them, which is a lot of work! He took the kids shopping on Saturday while I was at Erin's shower and they got me a 3 month membership to Massage Envy! I can't wait to use it!

It's not too often my Mom has all four of her kids in the same place so it was a pretty big deal! It was really neat having all 3 of my brother's and their families over. We are all grown up :)

The kids let the chickens out and my niece, Anna, had so much fun carrying them around. She is such a little animal lover. Everytime she comes over she carries a puppy around the entire time. This time it was a full grown chicken, lol! I just love her!

Easter Parties 2011

This year Harleigh and Trey's Easter Parties were on the same day. Talk about hectic! I was really thankful that they were at different times so I was able to make both of them. This precious girl went with me and she was an angel, of course!

Our first stop was the Church. Trey's party was from 12-1 and then they hunted eggs on the playground. It's always so neat to get to see him in his "element". He ran into his classroom and sat right down where his name tag was. He acts like such a big boy at Parent's Day Out.

My friend, Ashley, and I went out a few minutes early and hid the eggs while Ms. Sue watched Lakyn. Ms. Sue has been the Assistant Director there since Harleigh was 18 months old. It's so neat that she will have seen all of my babies through Parent's Day Out! The egg hunt was just precious! All the kids had a blast.

Lakyn, Trey and I left the Church and stopped by the house. We only had a few minutes because Harleigh's Party next! I had just enough time to get Trey's candy out of the car (It was HOT and I was afraid it would melt) I also fed and changed Lakyn and then loaded them back up and headed to The Primary School.

Harleigh's egg hunt was first. They had the eggs numbered and each kid could only get "their" number. Harleigh was #12. So if she picked up an egg and it didn't have #12 on it, she had to put it down. There were 144 eggs! So you can imagine how long it took. Which would have been okay, had I not had my two little stinkers tagging along...

This is Miss Priss' newest trick! She rips the bow off the headband and then either gets the band stuck on her face or wrapped around her neck. I have had to start watching her really carefully because I'm afraid she's going to hurt herself! ha!

Trey was actually very good, it was just a LONG day! lol! One of the kids in Harleigh's class gave everyone a goody bag and she let him have one. He was so proud! I thought it was so sweet of her because she gave up her bag so he could have one. Which made his day since he was very upset he couldn't hunt eggs with her class. lol!

Holidays 2010

I'm baaaaack! ha! I have been trying to decide if I should update starting now, or back track and pick up where I left off in DECEMBER, ugh! Well, I decided to pick up where I left off, you know, for memories sake ;)

We had a really great Christmas this year. Oue kids are so blessed, they get to celebrate with my Mom's extended family, my immediate family on my Mom's side, my Dad's side, and with Josh's family. They think every day in December is Christmas, ha! This is a picture of them and their cousins on Josh's side. I lost my camera so Josh got me a new one for Christmas. Needless to say, my picture collection from our Holiday festivities is pretty poor.

This year, we celebrated New Year's at our home with some close friends and their kids. My how things change after children ;) We had some brand new puppies and the kids had so much fun playing with them. I think we have had 2 litters since then. Lord, help me!

Lakyn was a perfect angel, of course, and slept in her swing the entire evening.

The kiddos danced the night away as Mr. Donnie sang and played for them. Harleigh thinks he sounds just like The Zach Brown Band ;)

Halloween 2010

We had a really good time celebrating Halloween this year. My Mom and I took the kids to a Pumpkin Patch the weekend before Halloween. I was so excited to get pictures of the kids in the pumpkins and I just knew they would be adorable and perfect pictures! Boy, was I wrong! It was hot, the sun was in their eyes, and they were grouchy. There were also a lot of kids there, so they really just wanted to play. It was a total bust! This is the best picture I got of them. It's definitely hit or miss when you are trying to get a good picture of 3 kiddos!

Lakyn was such a little angel. They had all kinds of fun stuff for the kids, coloring, games, a moonwalk, firetruck, train, etc. She just layed back in her stroller looking like a little Halloween Princess and never made a peep. She is such a good baby!
On Halloween night, Josh and I took the kids trick-or-treating. We were supposed to go with a bunch of friends but there was a change of plans. It really worked out for the best because we had a great time going as a family. We went to a neighborhood close to home about 30 minutes before dark and we went from house to house until it got dark. Lakyn was dressed as a skeleton for her 1st Halloween! I barely got any pictures of her. I was pretty busy keeping up with
Our Little Fisherman...
And his Big Sister the Garden Fairy :)

Easter 2010

We had a really fun Easter this year! The kids had their party at The Church and it went very smoothly. I was so worried about having to miss one of their parties/egg hunts, but it worked out perfectly. I was able to go to each of their classes for lunch and see them both hunt eggs. Harleigh's class was so funny! The ran so fast after the eggs and all of the girls were fighting over the pink eggs, it was hilarious!

Trey's class made these adorable bunny hats. Aren't they cute?!? Poor guy, I always want the kids to match on the holidays and he usually gets stuck wearing pink! His egg hunt was adorable! The two year olds were just getting the hang of it. They walked around and Trey kept showing me his eggs before he put them in his basket. They were also helping each other fill their baskets. Totally different story from the Fours!
And here they are in their personalized Easter shirts. They only got to wear them once because I got long sleeves and it was warm around Easter this year. The last two years it was cool. Dang Texas weather!

Spring Break 2010

We had a really fun Spring Break! The kids had no Mother's Day Out, Dance, or T-ball, so we had the entire week to do whatever we wanted! The weather didn't cooperate at the beginning of the week, but by Wednesday it was beautiful and perfect for a day at the Beach! So we went and picked up Mimi and met Leigh, Gigi, Landon, and Madeline in Galveston. We packed a lunch and Gigi bought everyone a bucket and shovel. It was so nice to enjoy some Vitamin D. I feel like we have been cooped up all winter!

After the beach, Mimi, Harleigh, Trey and I headed to Kemah! We ate some Joe's crabshack and spent the night at The Boardwalk Inn. On Thursday the kids rode a million rides and played in the water fountain. It was so much fun being near the water for two days!

Four Christmases

No, I'm not referring the comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaugn! I am referring to the amount of Christmas celebrations these two attended in one week!

I love black and white, it makes them look so sweet and innocent! ha!

Christmas with Mimi and Moose was a blast! Here are all of the kids on front of the tree. Anna was sick so she stayed home with her Mommy. We missed her so much! My Mom and Step-Dad always go all out on Christmas and they really outdid themselves this year. The kids got so many cool gifts, and we all had a great time visiting and stuffing ourselves with good holiday foods!

This is Christmas Morning. Trey got a fishing pole from Santa and Harleigh got a bb gun. We had a nice, relaxing morning at home. It was just Josh and I and the kids. We had fun taking our time and enjoying watching the kids open and play with their presents.

Harleigh was super excited about her Dora Mermaid!

After spending the morning at home with our little family, we headed over to Josh's parents to celebrate! We took Harleigh's gun and Daddy helped her shoot it and work on gun safety. We had a lot of fun with Josh's parents, sisters, and Aunts.

On Saturday we went to Nana and PawPaw's. The kids just loved their Zhu Zhu pets. They each got two, and tons of accessories! I think their favorite gift were the books that Nana picked up at The Book Fair. They just love to read!

We had such a great Christmas and we are so blessed to have such large families to enjoy the holidays with. Our kids are really spoiled, and we love it!
